Chile: Emerging Economies, Kelley School of Business
This course provides an opportunity for Evening MBA students to widen their international experiences and to explore one of the world’s largest emerging markets. The focus of this course is Chile and its position as one of the important emerging markets in the world. Class meetings prior to the study tour will address the business and institutional environments of Chile.
China: Doing Business with China
The objective of this program is to acquaint students with theories, concepts, practices, and techniques in international business, with a strong emphasis on transition economies such as China. Topics covered include benefits and costs of international business to both domestic and global economies.
This program will provide students with a wide scope of Global IT Citizenship, exploring issues related to multicultural integration within global companies and concerns about citizens working and studying abroad. It includes an in-depth cultural exchange where students will collaborate with students from China throughout the course.
Finland: Providing Digital Services to International Users
This program in Informatics provide technological and conceptual knowledge in skills such as HTML, CSS, and information architecture that will be practiced and refined in collaborative course projects. Students are introduced to an educational model that encourages high-level content discussion and sharing. We encourage creativity and innovation using international standards for delivering digital services. Most of our efforts are based on international collaboration, and we learn how to work across borders to achieve our objectives and reach our agreed-upon goals.
This interdisciplinary course emphasizes sustainability, globalization and French culture. In this context, sustainability refers to design, engineering, manufacturing, technology, and leadership processes implemented and maintained in industry and business for the purpose of being environmentally responsible, energy-efficient, cost-effective, and socially responsible. Students will visit industries, municipalities and universities such as EDF Hydroelectric Power Station in Serre-Ponçon (largest Dam in Europe), Frioul Island (Organic Fish Farm), Solar Farm in Vinon-sur-Verdon, Vasarely Foundation in Aix-en-Provence, Polytech Marseille - Aix-Marseille Universite, etc. to see various innovative methods of technology, manufacturing, and engineering, as well as embedded sustainable practices.
This interdisciplinary course emphasizes sustainability, globalization and German culture. Students will visit industries, municipalities and universities such as Mercedes, Roche, MVV Energie, City of Mannheim, and the University of Kaiserslautern to see various innovative methods of technology, manufacturing, and engineering, as well as embedded sustainable practices. Germany is known for its innovative technology and engineering practices and their sustainable culture and business practices.
Germany: Summer Internship Program (Mannheim)
Students will participate in an 8 week, full-time engineering internship placement. The program is part of an exchange between IUI and the Duale Hochschule Baden-Wuerttemberg. Students will focus on industry innovation. IUI students will also support student interns traveling to the U.S. as part of the partnership.
Greece: Documenting Historical Cultural Artifacts & Traditions
This is an international service-learning course that takes place on the Greek island of Paros. Service projects will include, producing promotional videos for local tourism; documentary videos of island lifestyles, cultural and archeological sites; producing 3D graphical recreations of archeological locations; and photojournalism.
Visit to Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology (SCIT), where students will be able to interact with Indian students and learn about the differences between the US and Indian education systems and cultural aspects and life style. Visits to a variety of cultural and historical sites to help the students understand the environment in which the outsourcing and offshoring industry has developed.
Japan: Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Global Economy
Innovation prompts new or updated products, services, business models or strategies that provide values. Entrepreneurship plays an important role in stimulating innovations and accelerating positive social and environmental changes. This course aims to explore the business environment that drive business growth initiatives and start-ups. The study abroad travel allows the immersion in foreign cultures to gain awareness and understanding of the people and business climate that are unique for innovation and entrepreneurship.
South Africa : Emerging Economies - Kelley School of Business
This course for MBA students focuses on the host country and its position as one of the important emerging markets in the world. Students vote on where to travel each year.
Worldwide: International Human Rights Law Internships, School of Law
McKinney School of Law students do internships in the field of international human rights law. The substantive areas of their work have touched on many of the SDGs, and can potentially touch on all of them. Since 1997, our program has had international human rights law internship placements in over 75 countries on six continents.
